Majoras Mask: 3d Model

Im so happy with my recent side modeling project of Majoras mask. It was fun to model and eventually i would love to have it 3d printed when I have the money. I'd love to have it be a wall piece in my room...Although that stare...those eyes...might be too intense.

It was poly modeled in 3ds max, sculpting and maps were made in Zbrush, Photoshop and Flash. I always wanted to model the mask and was heavily inspired by the rustic version, 3D artist Cordell Felix made.

I also made a gif of the model. It's a slightly changed model with the eyes as a separate piece. They were rigged with dummy's and look at constraints. A simple animation. I call it, Majoras mask, quietly judging the content of what it's seeing.

Batman Returns: Selina Kyles Apartment W.I.P

I really wanted to design an architectural space for my portfolio. I was stumped and one night one of my favorite movies "Batman Returns" came on. There are a lot of cool spaces that were created in the movie but I had to recreate Selina Kyles (Catwoman) room. There were so many items and it has tons of character in my opinion. Also I really wanted to model the neon sign.

Upon starting the modeling process I drew a orthographic view. I watched all the clips in which she is in her apartment and took many screen grabs to make sure I got everything down to the T.
The second step was modeling the rooms walls and floor. From there I started building up the unique wall moulding and door shapes. Plus adding the items that were central to the layout and drew your eye first. The tables, the unique chair and lamp.....and I couldn't resist modeling the sign to be honest.
I did a quick render to adjust the lighting for the neon sign, which was difficult to get completely right in 3ds Max, but I believed i achieved the correct color and brightness that was seen in the movie. Neon's very bright but the color and light only reach so far, as opposed to how a light bulb acts.

I have started texturing and adding more models to the scene to give it that cluttered feel, like in the movie. So it doesn't seem so 3d, or bare.

There is still more to model for the room but I am working on it because I am in love with this project. i will be sure to post more as I go along.

Diamond Rendering for fun: Kelis's Acapella mask

So I wanted to do something with all the Diamonds I modeled. So I decided to try and recreate the mask from Kelis's music video for "Acapella". Just the mask. The model was used to shape and place the diamonds on the face.

Here is the reference.

Diamonds Render

Modeled in 3ds max these diamonds were a experiment in rendering caustics and transparent materials.

The P.I.N.C.H Foundation Logos

I worked with the non profit organization, The P.I.N.C.H (People In Neighborhoods Can Help) Foundation to recreate their company logo. As well as to assist in making tickets, flyers, social media pages and other logos. I was first in contact with company founder and Director Frank Sullivan in 2012 to recreate the organizations logo. He had a basic idea in his head and I was able to work with him to achieve what he wanted.

The logo he wanted was something that could be easily identified and be something that could be stamped on cards, shirts, posters and other tangible media. It started out as a two color scheme of black and red by his suggestion but was deemed too dark for a company that helps people in need in my opinion so I suggested using bright warm colors. The final approved logo has been used since.

The logo was recolored and slightly tweaked in 2013 to showcase "Boston Strong" colors of Blue and Gold after the Boston Marathon bombing. The logo was used in invitations, business cards, and t-shirts to promote a banquet and fund raiser held in September, honoring locals in Boston as well as Boston mayor Thomas M. Menino.

Logo Work & Website Design

Below are some samples that I have been allowed to release of my work with companies around The New England area.

I worked with Robert Starr of MASCo to redesign the company website and logo to be more eye-catching, yet simple, so that people of any age would be able to navigate it with ease.

Bakery Bowls, a local start-up in Massachusetts that caters in the sense of Edible arrangements only with baked goods; contacted me in order to create a logo for their business. The owner and company founder, Jacqueline Fornaro, had a basic idea sketched out but wanted me to elaborate and make it more detailed. Above is the concept process that I worked through with her to help create the final logo that was
desired.

Through The Wormhole with Morgan Freeman promotional cards were created for The Science Channel through Revelation Entertainment and The Incubator.

"Jilted?" A short lived reality show on Wetv about couples that have been together for a while and wanted to get married or quit the relationship. I created the promotional cards that were used as well as the shows logo through The Incubator, which produced the series for the channel.

Grimes Oil Co. Now Grimes Energy, a company based in the New England area contacted me to help reboot their image. They wanted it to be bold and eye popping yet keeping their signature purple logo, which was also revamped. The website was made to be simple enough for any age to navigate through as well as bold in color.
